About this Event

Join the HIP Strike Team at MacGregor Park! We will be targeting woody stemmed species in the wooded areas of the park. Herbicide will be used at this event. We will meet in the parking lot near the restrooms as shown on the map below. 

This workday is from 9am-12pm. You are welcome to leave at any time, but we ask that all attendees arrive 15 minutes early to sign in.

All participants are REQUIRED to complete a virtual safety training prior to the event that will take around 20 minutes to complete. A link to the training platform will be emailed to you after registration. Registration links are sent out on a weekly basis. 

*Participants must be at least 18 years old

Rules and Other Information

The Strike Team is limited to individuals 18 years and older.Strike Team volunteers may control invasive plants using herbicides or potentially dangerous cutting tools.Participants are required to wear lace up shoes, work gloves and/or chemical resistant gloves, eye protection, and clothing to provide sufficient protection or comfort for working in areas with dense vegetation. Long sleeves, pants, and closed-toes shoes are recommended.Strike team members are likely to encounter poisonous plants or plants with sharp thorns or other plant parts.It is recommended that strike team members use insect and tick repellent to prevent against bites and disease. No chainsaws or power tools are allowed at Strike Team events.


Provided Tools and PPE

We will provide tools, eye protection, and first aid. You will need to bring your own gloves and other protection as listed above. Bringing your own tools and eye protection from home is welcome. Please note that we do not allow any power tools or chainsaws.
