We are partnering with Household Hazardous Waste and Weights and Measures to host a community open house at our new facility. We will be having different stations related to different natural resource topics and related SWCD programs. Participants will visit stations to get stamps on a "passport". Completing the passport will allow attendees to be entered to win a generous gift basket from Hamilton County Tourism and other prizes. We will have free snow cones and other snacks.
We are looking for volunteer support to help us man the stations-- particularly to education on HIP, invasive species, natives and landscaping with natives, volunteering, etc.
Tasks include:
- Welcoming attendees (outdoors)
- Invasive species, HIP advocacy, Weed Wrangle education, etc. (likely inside)
- Native plant education, landscaping with natives (this station will be outdoors)
- Set up/light clean up
